The Green Deal Biotechnology Conference 2027 will take place in Ghent, Belgium, from 13–15 September 2027, organized by the Environmental Biotechnology Division of the European Federation of Biotechnology (EFB).

This third edition of the series continues to highlight the essential role of environmental biotechnology in advancing sustainable solutions and supporting the transition towards a circular bioeconomy.

The conference will bring together researchers, innovators, and stakeholders working across environmental biotechnology to address key global challenges, including resource recovery, pollution mitigation, sustainable use of natural resources, and the development of bio-based value chains.

A strong emphasis will be placed on interdisciplinary approaches that integrate biotechnology with emerging tools and technologies such as artificial intelligence, genome editing, nanotechnology, and bioelectrochemical systems, reflecting the rapidly evolving landscape of the field.
